Our 2010 - 2011 season has been very enjoyable with the weather generally good, water temperature pleasant and attendance of members consistent.

With the new structure of WASA this season our swimmers were registered with WASA and not Swimming NSW. This allowed the club to offer family discounts, which we have not been able to do the last few years. Overall, we have been very supportive of the new structure of WASA and look forward to the continued benefits over the following seasons.

This year we competed in several WASA carnivals, including the Handicap event, 14 & U Peninsula Challenge and Jenny Oates Championships with a number of swimmers receiving medals. Congratulations to Rebecca Bourcier and Geoff Newton who were awarded 15 years and over age champions of WASA. We also competed in the Rockpool Relay Challenge, organised by Narrabeen Amateur Swimming Club.

Our presentation afternoon held at North Narrabeen Surf Club was a great success with our members being rewarded for their efforts and dedication. Congratulations to our Most Improved Swimmer – Rebecca Bourcier; Under 12 President Award – Emily Price and Pat Sadlier Memorial Endeavour trophy winner – Holly Graham. Congratulations also to our pointscore winners: Jonathan Marsh and Ellis Raymond jointly overall and Sharri Boucher in the Masters.

This season we explored the possibility of changing our name from Narrabeen Ladies Amateur Swimming Club to Narrabeen Lakes Amateur Swimming Club. This was suggested to reflect the changing membership of our club while maintaining a link to the history of the club as it first started in Narrabeen Lake. Following positive feedback from our Life Members this proposal was unanimously accepted by our members at the presentation.

And finally thank you to my fellow committee members and the parents who help out each week, their assistance is greatly appreciated. Congratulations to Alan Gray the recipient of ‘Drizabone’ helpers award this season.
